Martin Lehmann set up his business on 6 November 1962 as a specialist factory for Furniture locks, continuing the tradition of lock-making that Walter Liebold had begun in 1917. Today, the group has three production sites - one at headquarters in Minden, one in Porta Westfalica and one in Brandenburg an der Havel. Minden is also the seat of the independent sales and marketing company. Run by the company founder's daughter, Renate Schlüter, the family business currently employs around 260 staff.

As lock specialists, LEHMANN ranks among the market leaders for the European Furniture industry. Apart from the German market, LEHMANN continuously supplies customers in over 30 countries in all five continents. Not only a challenge, internationalisation is also the key to the future.
