What is Key Retention?
Key retention for locks is an important part of Loss Prevention strategies in the retail sector. It is a feature that allows the key to be removed from the cylinder if the lock is locked – if the lock is unlocked, the key will not be released. With the key on a chain attached to their belt, the key retention feature helps shop assistants from accidentally not locking showcases – they cannot walk away from a display without first locking it. All Lehmann cylinder locks can be fitted with key retention feature, including of course the glass door locks.
